With expertise in education, apprenticeships and commercial training they offer a variety of services to suit a range of skills development needs. Operating across all sectors advising on all aspects of skills development and funding reform including the apprenticeship levy.
FSV need a base of highly skilled resource who can not only deliver training and workshops to providers and industry partners but also develop a curriculum, write resources and become part of the FSV team.
Finding professionals with these skills can be a challenge.
FSV were interested in the Ad Hoc Academic platform as it provides a pool of both professional and academic resource with highly specialised skills.
Holly Thompson, Director of Future Skills Vision, describes their experience of using Ad Hoc
“It was incredibly useful to find a platform that I could search through for individuals that fit the very specific skill set we require, especially considering there are so few people that have the skills we need who are based in the North East of England.”
Holly found Dr Phil Veal on Ad Hoc Academic. Phil is Design Thinker and practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in the creative industries and was keen to engage with Holly. Phil is now part of the FSV curriculum and development team and is an associate with FSV.
By allowing Holly to quickly search the database, match the skills requirement and quickly connect with Phil Veal, Ad Hoc Academic has helped enhance the team and the products and services they can deliver.
Holly concludes “Without using Ad Hoc academic it would have been both difficult and time consuming to find the right person; and I might not have found Phil otherwise. He is different from anyone I have in my network and it would have taken a while for me to find a person like him.”
